WPLG 10
With origins dating back to 1957, Miami's WPLG-Channel 10 is a news station with lots of local firsts, 
including South Florida's first black prime-time anchor (Dwight Lauderdale in 1986) and even the first station with a helicopter (in 1982). Lauderdale is still there, anchoring weeknights at 6 an 11 p.m., and while he may be the face of the station, Michael Putney is the brains. Putney's "This Week in South Florida" (Sundays, 11:30 a.m.) is the most serious and in-depth journalism on local TV.

since i was a 12 year old little girl i was inspired by the news at WPLG and wanted to work at the fine establishment. I lived not far from former reporter Connie Hicks and worshiped Diane Magnum and thought life couldn't get better.
Too bad that they have replaced talented and experienced reporters with dumb .. barely attractive ... sterotypes of news reporters. I mean come on ... JC started out as a "weather girl" then became a "reporter" and is now a "traffic girl". How credible is that? And she is not even that pretty. ok, their numbers are great .. but that's because people like me who grew up watching this station have leigence and respect for the current wanna be's of the past.
